AIRBUS DEFENSE AND SPACE
A400M
_The A400M is a tactical turboprop-powered, transport aircraft designed
for the replacement of current C-130 Hercules and C-160 Transall cargo
aircraft in service in the European Air Forces. The new transport
aircraft will offer increased payload, cruise speed and range over
current cargo aircraft. In addition, the A400M will become the standard
tactical cargo aircraft of most European Air Forces.
The A400M aircraft will meet the requirements of European Air Forces well into the 21st century while enhancing Europe's airlift capability. It will be able to takeoff from short (less than 1,000 meters) and rough runways and to operate autonomously loading and unloading payloads through its own resources independently of ground support. The aircraft has a rear loading ramp and T tail.

A330 MRTT
_Airbus Military’s A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport is the most capable in-flight refuelling platform available today.
It is derived from the best-selling A330 widebody twin-engine commercial airliner, and excels in the full range of operational tanker mission scenarios. The aircraft also has designed-in flexibility for cargo, passengers and aeromedical evacuation. It combines advanced avionics with Airbus’ proven fly-by-wire control system and the most up-to-date manufacturing techniques, enabling the lowest operating costs.
The A330 MRTT can directly support a fighter squadron's deployment by carrying its operational personnel and equipment while also performing refuelling escort for the squadron's combat aircraft to an overseas base. This allows the fighter squadron to deploy as a unit, and then quickly ramp up to a combat-level sortie rate after arrival.
The A330 MRTT’s significant fuel capacity (111 tonnes/245,000 lbs.) – combined with high offload rates – ensures that all receiver aircraft can be refuelled efficiently and quickly. Multi-point refuelling allows the A330 MRTT to top off several receiver aircraft simultaneously. Its state-of-the-art Aerial Refuelling Boom System (ARBS) from Airbus Military, combined with Cobham hose and drogue refuelling systems, provide the unique capability to service probe-equipped and slipway-equipped aircraft during the same mission.

A310 MRTT
Offered as upgrade only
The Airbus A310 MRTT is a conversion of the Airbus A310-300 civil passenger transport aircraft into a wide-bodied multirole tanker transport aircraft. The production of the aircraft has been terminated, however conversions are still being offered to foreign customers.
The A310 MRTT can be readily converted to: air-to-air refuelling tanker, all-cargo transporter, medical evacuation aircraft, and an all-passenger transporter or combination of VIP, passenger and cargo transporter roles.

A319 MPA
_The MPA319 is a maritime patrol aircraft developed on the basis of the
Airbus A320 airliner designed to meet the joint requirements of Germany
and Italy for an eventual replacement for their aging Atlantic aircraft.
The new aircraft will provide naval surveillance and Anti-Submarine
Warfare (ASW) capability.
The MPA319 aircraft will integrate advanced sensors, tactical data management and communications systems, stores and weapons compartments, and a crew area for long endurance missions.

EADS Talarion
Under Development
The result of a risk-reduction study undertaken to analyse
and elaborate requirements for the German, Spanish and French armed forces,
European UAS is a long-endurance aerial drone system designed for surveillance,
reconnaissance and target acquisition.
Equipped with high-tech payloads, what makes this approach a breakthrough is the modular design of the drone (broad payload bay, ground control station), its integration in a network-centric environment and in air traffic generally with the ultimate goal of certification. The main purpose of the European UAS is to provide wide-area ground and maritime surveillance along with reconnaissance of specific areas to assist commanders in the theatre of operations.
